Análise da tendência histórica das relações da AIDS com a tuberculose em Santa Catarina entre 2001 e 2016

The prevalence of HIV in Santa Catarina, besides its direct impact on health, increased the risk for those infected, since it makes association with other infections more frequent, provoking, in case of HIV-Tb coinfections. This study aimed to characterize the temporal evolution of Tuberculosis, HIV and Tuberculosis and HIV co-infection, as well as to analyze their relations in Santa Catarina in the period 2001-2016. The information obtained was based on SINAN records and secondary data under DIVE custody. The study studied 44,410 cases reported with the diseases of interest, all residents in the state of Santa Catarina. The results indicated a predominance of males in the 30 to 49 age groups, with the majority of cases reported in the macroregions of Foz do Rio Itajaí, Grande Florianópolis, Northeast and Vale do Itajaí. Patients with coinfection had a lower risk of acquiring Multidrug Resistant Tuberculosis, a finding that may be related to the higher mortality in this group of patients. In the study period, there was a tendency to increase the incidence of Tuberculosis, HIV and co-infection in Santa Catarina.
