Resumo: The present study has as its goal to identify the possible damages to aeronaut health caused by the interaction with the aeronautical environment and the aviation work routine in the light of the aerospace medicine, and recommend practical actions for its prevention, both to the crew, the airliners and aviation agencies. The research is characterized as descriptive and exploratory, with bibliographic and documentary procedure, through documents of official organs of medicine and aviation worldwide, legislation with the theme and scientific works, with a qualitative approach. When analyzing the results obtained through the research, it is concluded that the aviation workplace and the dynamics characteristics of the job are risk factors for the crew health, and its effects, if not prevented, can lead to health problems and decreased operational safety. It was also concluded that in order for flight discipline to have effectiveness in increasing flight safety, in addition to controlling the risk factors in the personal habits of aeronaut, it should include actions to prevent health damage from the work routine, which should be also taken at the moments outside of the professional life.

Caracteriza-se como uma pesquisa exploratória e descritiva, com procedimento bibliográfico e documental, por meio de documentos dos órgãos oficiais da medicina e aviação mundiais, legislações com o tema e trabalhos científicos, com abordagem qualitativa. Ao analisar os resultados obtidos através da pesquisa, conclui-se que a atividade aérea e a dinâmica do trabalho na aviação são fatores de risco para a saúde da tripulação, e seus efeitos se não prevenidos podem levar a problemas à saúde e consequentemente à diminuição da segurança operacional.
