ABSTRACT This work aims to verify the responsibility of the person responsible for the quality of aircraft maintenance services as a way of preventing air accidents. For this purpose, the theme was: The competence of the professional responsible for the quality of services (rpqs) in the prevention of air accidents and incidents. With regard to the method used, this was purely through research on organs, quantitative data and specialized materials in aviation. Data collection took place through bibliographic readings on the subject and its importance in air routines. Aeronautical safety is a matter of extreme relevance both in the aeronautical environment and for society, since it is the most used means of transport daily for executives, tourists and for the entire crew. In view of pertinent data presented in the development of this work, it was concluded that the constant learning of the Operational Safety Management System is fundamental for the continuous improvement in processes, ensuring that activities are delivered according to standards and with the certainty that safety is always guaranteed.
