The lack of urban planning and the devaluation of public spaces is a big problem in many Brazilian cities, Sangão is one of them, because it’s a small town that didn’t have urban planning in its initial development, nor currently, identifying itself a lack of care with public spaces as well as the inexistence of places of leisure intended for the population. Therefore, this Course Completion Work is based on the theoretical and design bases on urban renewal, public spaces and urbanity, as well as the elaboration of a diagnosis with the objective of identifying the potentialities and deficiencies of the area under study for the development of a project of urban requalification in the central area of the town of Sangão, Santa Catarina. The purpose of the present work is, in addition to qualifying the public spaces of Sangão, to recover the relation of the residents with the town, which is lost due to the problems existing in the urban scenario, as well as to promote the growth of the municipality through the change of urban dynamics, attracting local people as well as other regions to use the spaces of the town. Thus, the proposal of urban requalification in the central area allows the recovery of existing public spaces and the creation of new ones, thus promoting the liveliness of the urban center.
