Melhorando a interação da interface do site da previdência social para a terceira idade

This final paper will present a study about the possibility of improvements of the brazillian Social Security website for the use of the elderly. An analysis will be made about the third age, usability, information architecture, ergonomics, accessibility and other subjects related to the interaction of this group. The third age (people over sixty years old) is an age group that has a huge growth in Brazil and the world. However, this population has physiological, cognitive and emotional declines due mainly to aging. With increasing of technology and digtal devices, the elderly with their natural slopes have difficulties using these interfaces, but are they also designed for the use and understanding of this public? Or just for ther younger crowd? With this dilemma, this final paper will make a protoype of a website that uses usability guidelines, information architecture among other disciplines related to digital design, in addition to studies that include aging. In order to evaluate the problems of the elderly in interfaces, the project choose the brazillian Social Security website, called Previdência Social, which was tested in practice with users. From this evaluation, the author tried to dismantle all the problems of the guests when interacting with the site and than develop three alternatives of layout which were subsequently evaluated by the users. Based on the opinion of this group, one of the alternatives was chosen, which was also tested using the same methodology used by the first test on the site of Previdência Social. With these evaluations, the author was able to analyze the two results and come to a conclusion on whether or not there is a problem in the construction of interfaces with the third age.
