Resumo: | The Automatic Dependent Surveillance System (ADS-B) is a technological system that can fundamentally change the way aircraft are tracked and monitored in national airspace. Instead of relying on costly radar technology, aircraft will transmit their position, speed, altitude, as well as other important information to land-based receivers and other nearby aircraft. ADS-B has the potential to increase traffic capacity, improve efficiency, reduce costs and improve airspace safety. This research has as general objective to identify the advantages and disadvantages in the use of the ADS-B system for air traffic controllers, aircraft operators and other users of the Brazilian Airspace Control System (SISCEAB). It is characterized as an exploratory research with bibliographic and documentary procedure through books, articles, reports, regulations and laws. The approach used was qualitative. The data will be analyzed through content analysis and will be presented through categories of analysis, tables and graphs, and later analyzed according to the theoretical basis, in order to reach the proposed objective. As a result, it is concluded that ADS-B, according to its development potential, low implementation and maintenance costs, and the ability to integrate with systems that are already used, represents a powerful tool to increase air traffic, contributing to lower operating costs, favoring environmental issues and making flight operations more and more secure. |

Em vez de confiar em onerosas tecnologias de radar, as aeronaves transmitirão sua posição, velocidade, altitude, assim como outras informações importantes para receptores terrestres e outras aeronaves próximas. O ADS-B tem o potencial de aumentar a capacidade de tráfego, melhorar a eficiência, reduzir custos e melhorar a segurança no espaço aéreo. Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo geral identificar as vantagens e desvantagens na utilização do sistema ADS-B para controladores de tráfego aéreo, operadores de aeronaves e demais usuários do Sistema de Controle do Espaço Aéreo Brasileiro (SISCEAB). Caracteriza-se como uma pesquisa exploratória com procedimento bibliográfico e documental por meio de livros, artigos, reportagens, regulamentos e leis. A abordagem utilizada foi qualitativa. Os dados serão analisados por meio da análise de conteúdo e serão apresentados por meio de categorias de análises, quadros e gráficos, e posteriormente analisados de acordo com a fundamentação teórica, com fins de alcançar o objetivo proposto.
