Resumo: ABSTRACT Despite their high predictability, osseointegrated implants, which are often listed as the first therapeutic option for functional aesthetic rehabilitation of total or partial oral edentulous spaces, are not free of complications. Pathologies associated with peri-implant tissues can lead to serious consequences such as loss of osseointegration and failure of the implant, in this way, the present literature review aims to analyze the treatment options for peri-implantite and to indicate the best among them. It was concluded that, among the several treatment options for peri-implantitis, it is essential that the diagnosis be well performed so that the treatment is effective. In less complex cases, the dentist may use non-surgical techniques and the greater the complexity of the disease, the more gradual treatment may be required, starting with non-surgical therapy followed by surgical treatment when necessary. In addition, preventive and therapeutic measures, aimed at the adequate performance of biofilm control and recovery of healthy tissue, are also strongly recommended, since they increase the prognosis of the implants in the long term.

Patologias associadas aos tecidos peri-implantares podem levar a consequências graves como perda da osseointegração e fracasso do implante, desta maneira, a presente revisão de literatura tem como objetivo analisar as opções de tratamento para peri-implantite e elencar a melhor dentre elas. Foi concluído que, dentre as diversas opções de tratamento para peri-implantite, é primordial que o diagnóstico seja bem realizado para que o tratamento seja eficaz. Em casos menos complexos, o dentista pode lançar mão de técnicas não-cirúrgicas e caso o grau de complexidade da doença for maior, podem ser necessários tratamentos com abordagem gradual, partindo de terapia não-cirúrgica seguida por tratamento cirúrgico quando necessário.
