The present paper seeks to analyze the policies adopted by Brazil regarding the confrontation of the 2008 crisis in the period that comprises the governments of Lula, Dilma, Temer and Bolsonaro until the pre-pandemic moment of 2020, from the perspective of the Post-Keynesian doctrine, seeking elucidate the importance of institutions and state intervention to face economic stagnation. The present work does not seek to convince that there must be more or less state intervention, however, it opens a parenthesis regarding neoliberalism, which preaches a thought that is at odds with the Keynesian essence. To this end, bibliographies, theses and theoretical articles on Keynesian and post-Keynesian thought will be used, as a way of elucidating the anatomy of the international crisis. Outlining the framework of the 2008 crisis in a generic way, as well as seeking to understand its origin and the effects caused as soon as its dissemination, as in the long term. In this sense, it will be verified if there was no capacity to react to future crises or even to shield events of the same order, to identify how the policy makers of the promotion acted and if these actions were sufficient. It is possible to observe that the Brazil of the crisis of 2008 enjoyed a diversified economy and more resistant to external factors, still counting on a public financial system that presented solidity and that combined with measures to confront poverty and extreme poverty that was already underway. , many presenters to face the international crisis without forgetting to face poverty. And to complement it, it is necessary to understand that Keynes's theory is based on the welfare state - the welfare state, which preaches the State's intervention in protected activities to supply as existing deficiencies or deficiencies.
