A ascensão identitária na Europa em confronto com o multiculturalismo

The present work aims to seek answers for the growth and diffusion of identitarian movements in 21st century Europe, analyzing their motivations in accordance with the Clash of Civilizations theory and in confrontation with the multiculturalist perspective. Therefore, it is necessary to expose that theory in order to understand its limits and its application to the subject. The political motivations that involved post-war Europe in a multicultural agenda are briefly discussed, as well as the process of European importation of foreign labor and the permanence of these workers on the continent. The process of creating and developing the Nouvelle Droite is exposed through the Grouping of Research and Studies for European Civilization, GRECE in the acronym in French, precursor and alma mater of the identitarian movements that emerged in the 21st century. Data on the population growth of Muslim communities are used in order to confirm some identity hypotheses, as well as the growth of political representation of parties that confront the multiculturalist perspective. Finally, some examples of civilizational shock that serve as an argument for the development of reactionary movements are discussed.
