Resumo: The investigation of interactions between animals is a key factor in the ecology of food webs as it seeks to understand the dynamics of interactions and effects on ecosystem functioning, such as the provision of ecosystem services provided by agencies. Through ecological measures we aim to characterize the trophic structure of the community of medium and large beetle beetles and mammals and explain the interaction between the two groups. The study was conducted in a remnant of Atlantic Forest in southern Brazil. For the sampling of dung beetles use baited traps fall (human feces and fish). The mammalian fauna was sampled through camera trapping. The habitat structure was characterized by measures of structural complexity of the forest. Data were analyzed through diversity descriptors and ecological and descriptive metrics networks. The assembly of Scarabaeinae beetles present in the studied fragment corresponded to a total 1,084 individuals belonging to 11 genera and 27 species distributed. As for mammals cataloged 106 independent records of nine species of medium to large mammals. The integrity analysis showed a 99.9% coverage. Rodents group consisted of more significant with 43.4% of the sample. The ecological network showed that the average degree of beetles was 8.2 potential interactions while mammals was 24.44 potential interactions. Connectance was high, showing 90.5% of presumably possible interactions. The modularity was low demonstrating that the network beetles mammals interactions tends to be a general network. The high connectance among dung beetles and mammals and the possible interactions between them in the place of study strengthens the link between the two groups and the analysis of communities through food webs has been an important means to achieve biodiversity conservation.
