Santa Catarina concentrates the largest production of mollusks in Brazil, with a greater emphasis on Florianópolis for the cultivation of oysters. The productive system is largely artisanal, with the need of intensive labor and low mechanization of the production. The current cultivation of oysters and mollusks still lacks mechanization to reduce the production cycle, environmental impacts, quality and productivity and reduce the physical effort from the oysters’ producers and the injuries resulting from this activity. The author developed the studies on a marine farm that it is located in the city of Florianópolis, placed on Ribeirão da Ilha. The objective of this study is to analyze ergonomically the current oyster washing machinery, to propose a new machinery suitable to the recommendations of the Regulatory Standard number. 12, aiming to obtain gains with the adequacy for the health and safety of the worker.
