Resumo: This monograph presents, under the technical and legal aspects, the application of the minimum elements of a Fire Prevention and Protection Plan (FPP) in a building classified as recent, intended for commercial purposes. It presents the contextualization of the basic concepts related to the theme and the applied norms, especially those that legislate on the State of Santa Catarina. It describes the path traveled by the flame until it becomes a fire, its forms of propagation, the classification of fires and methods of combat and prevention. The components and prevention systems are dimensioned, considering the constructive characteristics of the building compared to those described in the standards.

Apresenta a contextualização dos conceitos básicos relacionados ao tema e as normativas aplicadas, sobretudo aquelas que legislam sobre o Estado de Santa Catarina. É descrito o caminho percorrido pela chama até tornar-se um incêndio, suas formas de propagação, a classificação dos incêndios e os métodos de combate e prevenção.
