Summary: This work seeks to analyze the possibility of creating a Hediondo crime focused on Environmental Legislation. For this, a historical analysis was made of how the other Hediond crimes were created and what impelled the Legislative Power to legislate on this subject. After that, we analyzed the main accidents that affected the Environment and also generated great repercussion in the media aiming to show the need for a more severe criminal punishment besides the administrative and civil that is applied today. After this analysis, a chart was drawn to show that the maximum sentence of the Environmental Crimes Law is very derisory compared to the extent of environmental damage.

Depois disso, foram analisados os principais acidentes que afetaram o Meio Ambiente e que também geraram grande repercussão na mídia objetivando mostrar a necessidade de uma punição penal mais severa além da administrativa e civil que é aplicada atualmente.
