This is a monographic work, a requirement for completion of the coellege of law. The present research has the objective of analyzing the occurrence of marriages in which, at least one of the parties, is a child or adolescent, as well as its causes, in the municipality of Urussanga, between the years 2010 and 2016. In addition, in terms of the exploratory level, which aims to achieve greater familiarity with the theme. The approach was the quantitative one that promotes studies from information collected from a group of people, regarding the problem studied. The data collection was done by bibliographic and documentary, and the data collection took place inside the registry of Urussanga, and then a questionnaire was applied with the participants of the research. The research showed that Brazil does not follow the countries that have higher child marriage rates than its own, and the region surveyed has shown different results from the other regions targeted by other surveys, due to its differentiated economic and social condition.
