The present research had as general objective to understand the importance of a new approach in the instruction of air pilots for flight safety. It was made is an exploratory research, the procedure adopted bibliographical and documentary with qualitative approach. We used books, articles, scientific works and reports that approach flight instruction in Brazil considering its history and current development. Bibliographical materials have also been used that demonstrate the importance of a new approach in education and that can be used to train pilots improving their flight results in terms of operational safety. The study concluded that piloting an aircraft today is much different than it was a century ago, as technologies are continually advancing and flying becomes an increasingly complex and dynamic activity. For this reason, it is important for the airline industry to adopt a contemporary approach to teaching both in the form of their instructors acting and also through technology resources compatible with the most modern aircraft.
