OBJECTIVE: To analyze whether gender equality in a possible social security reform would be fair in accordance with the principle of isonomy. METHOD: Regarding the level, the research is exploratory. It was used to the qualitative approach. The procedures adopted were the bibliographic and documentary research. RESULTS: It was found that there was a historical inversion in the granting of monthly benefits. Compensation for eventual double hours is contrary to social security principles, just as the tendency in new generations is to equate in domestic activities. The gestation period removes women from the labor market, however, the matter is treated in the labor field. It was evident that women have a longer survival, in which they will benefit more from social security. Compensation for social problems that are not social security matters is not feasible, since the purpose of social security is to ensure that those who are no longer able to assess income with work. CONCLUSION: Gender equalization is necessary to the social security system, aiming to respect the constitutional principles, the system finances and the social reality of the new generations in the Brazilian context.
