The present monographic work aims to analyze the perceptions of professionals of the reception service of the cities of Capivari de Baixo and Tubarão on the effectiveness of the protection measure of Institutional protection and the hypothesis of child and adolescent dismissal by the school reception. To do so, use the qualitative and exploratory approach method. Regarding the data collection procedure, the bibliographic and the field study were used. Regarding the technique of the present research, it took place through semi-structured interviews. From the analysis of the interviews conducted with 7 professionals from the welcoming institutions of Capivari de Baixo and Tubarão, based on the 6 categorization sectors available for research, it was found that 6 of the 7 interviewed professionals are already witnessed in inappropriate places or even when another less invasive measure could be applied. In addition, there was another problem in this area, namely the return of host in the shelter or what certainly has an extreme emotional impact on the life of the child, who is again abandoned.
