This article describes some precautions to be taken is to create a Virtual Learning Environment. The article involves issues such as choice of platform and tools it offers, the care-student interaction in the interface, until the graphic design of the page. These criteria should be developed aiming to always provide the teacherstudent interaction. However, only the environment is not a synonym for development of learning where teacher and student are not willing to work in this new mode of teaching. The article finally presents the experience of deploying a virtual environment in TRE-SP and describes the care taken in the theoretical foundation presented.
