Resumo: | INTRODUCTION: Intensive care physiotherapy aims to improve the patients' overall functional capacity, as well as restore ventilatory and physical independence, thus reducing the risk of complications associated with staying in bed. These activities solid academic training and aptitude for the proper exercise of the profession. OBJECTIVE: To outline the professional profile of physiotherapists working in intensive care units in the state of Santa Catarina. METHODS: Physiotherapists who were coordinators and / or technicians responsible for the Physiotherapy service of the Intensive Care Unit of hospitals with ICU beds registered in Santa Catarina were identified, who answered an online questionnaire with questions about training and professional practice. The collected data were tabulated using Microsoft Excel software, good and very basic in absolute and relative frequencies. RESULTS: The professional profile of physiotherapists working in the ICU in Santa Catarina is predominantly of young adults aged 31 to 35 years, graduated predominantly from private institutions (77%). Mostly post-graduated with specialization (55.5%), master's (55.6%) or doctorate (11.1%), most of them looking for updating technical-scientific knowledge (88.9%). All the adapted ones have a coordinator of the physiotherapy team, with 55.6% being a specialist, where most of the activities predetermined by are performed by physiotherapists. Physiotherapists are related to the exercise of the profession (100%), but that we do not find as a lack of confidence on the part of the team (44.4), a high number of patients (33.3%) and a lack of adequate materials for care (33.3%). CONCLUSION: The responsible technical physiotherapists are retired, are constantly improving, as activities and decision recovery are mostly decided in a shared way with the multiprofessional team. It was also identified that the physiotherapists are out of step with the exercise of the profession, but that. Essas atividades exigem formação acadêmica sólida e aptidão para o adequado exercício da profissão. OBJETIVO: Delinear o perfil profissional dos fisioterapeutas atuantes em unidades de terapia intensiva no estado de Santa Catarina. MÉTODOS: Foram identificados fisioterapeutas coordenadores e/ou responsáveis técnicos pelo serviço de Fisioterapia da Unidade de Terapia Intensiva de hospitais com leitos de UTI cadastrados em Santa Catarina, que responderam a um questionário online com perguntas sobre a formação e exercício profissional. Os dados coletados foram tabulados no software Microsoft Excel, e descritos em frequências absoluta e relativa. RESULTADOS: O perfil profissional dos fisioterapeutas atuantes em UTI em Santa Catarina é predominantemente de adultos jovens com idade de 31a 35 anos, graduados predominantemente em instituições privadas (77%). Em sua maioria pós-graduada com especialização (55,5%), mestrado (55,6%) ou doutorado (11,1%), em que a sua maioria busca por atualização de conhecimentos técnico-científicos (88,9%). Todos os estabelecimentos fazem possuem um coordenador da equipe de fisioterapia, sendo 55,6% titulado especialista, onde a maioria das atividades pré-determinadas por resolução são desempenhadas pelos fisioterapeutas. Os fisioterapeutas estão satisfeitos com o exercício da profissão (100%), mas que encontraram ou encontram barreiras como falta de confiança da equipe (44,4), número elevado de pacientes (33,3%) e falta de materiais adequados para o atendimento (33,3%). CONCLUSÃO: Os fisioterapeutas técnicos responsáveis são qualificados, estão em constante aperfeiçoamento, as atividades e tomadas de decisão são majoritariamente decididas de forma compartilhada com a equipe multiprofissional.
