Assistive technology within the Scopus database: a panel of scientific literature with bibliometric indicators

Resumo: The study focuses on a mapping of scientific production involving the theme ‘Assistive Technology’ and brings up the list and breadth of scientific texts indexed in the Elsevier Scopus Reference Database. The methodological development places a bibliometric study, carried out in June 2021, highlighting a sample cut over the last ten years of scientific publications (2010-2020). In the investigation, some bibliometric indicators stand out, resulting in the survey of 10,580 documentary items for the scope that involves Assistive Technology. The quantitative dimension confirms that the largest number of publications is concentrated in the year 2020, and bibliometric determinants highlight the North American higher education institutions as the main research nucleus and English is the main language for the dissemination of indexed documents. The areas of study in Computer Science and Engineering are the main strongholds that concentrate the theme, and thus, the theme is interdisciplinary and meets the independent life movement, therefore, it urges the debate and improvement of Assistive Technology in the scenario in that innovation offers more quality to the community.

El desarrollo metodológico sitúa un estudio bibliométrico, realizado en junio de 2021, destacando un corte de muestra de los últimos diez años de publicaciones científicas (2010-2020). En la investigación se destacan algunos indicadores bibliométricos, lo que da como resultado un estudio de 10.580 artículos documentales en el ámbito de las tecnologías de asistencia. La dimensión cuantitativa ratifica que el mayor número de publicaciones se concentra en el año 2020 y los determinantes bibliométricos destacan a las instituciones de educación superior norteamericanas como los principales núcleos de investigación y al inglés como el principal idioma de divulgación de los documentos indexados. Las áreas de estudio de la Informática y la Ingeniería son los principales baluartes que concentran el tema, siendo por tanto una materia interdisciplinar.O estudo enfoca um mapeamento da produção científica que envolve o tema ‘Tecnologia Assistiva’, apresentando o rol e a amplitude de textos científicos indexados na Base Referencial de Dados Elsevier Scopus. O desenvolvimento metodológico situa um estudo bibliométrico, realizado em junho de 2021, destacando um recorte amostral sobre os últimos dez anos de publicações (2010-2020) científicas. Na investigação, destacam-se alguns indicadores bibliométricos, resultando no levantamento de 10.580 itens documentais no âmbito da Tecnologia Assistiva. A dimensão quantitativa ratifica que o maior número de publicações concentra-se no ano de 2020 e os determinantes bibliométricos destacam as instituições de ensino superiores norte-americanas como os principais núcleos de investigação e o inglês o principal idioma para a divulgação dos documentos indexados.
