The article aims to analyze the insertion of contents related to the History of Africa in Brazilian Librarianship courses. As a theoretical reference, the elements that unite Brazil and Africa are contextualized under the historical studies of Hampatê Bâ (2010), Reis (2003) and Serrano and Waldman (2008); We also addresses aspects of the History of Africa and the stereotyping regime created on this Continent from M’Bokolo (2009), Pereira (2013), Macedo (2013), Ki‑Zerbo (2010). Furthermore, the importance of studies on the History of Africa in the teaching of Librarianship is pointed out from the perspective of scholars in the area. The results referring to the documentary corpus presented the analysis of 2273 disciplines, with only two courses (one for a degree and another for a bachelor's degree) covering specific disciplines of African History and two others, approaching the theme as one of the contents within the menu of other non-specific disciplines. Therefore, the little attention given in Brazilian Librarianship to ethnic-racial issues and the prevalence of a teaching built on a racist basis and on the privileges of white teachers and their professional category stands out.
