This paper presents an experience report, comprising the impressions of the students of the Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, about the advantages and disadvantages of REDE (Special Home Study Scheme). The Institution adopted the REDE in March 2020, due to the social isolation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. In this context, activities related to teaching and learning processes needed to be rethought, applying TDICs (Digital Information and Communication Technologies), AVAs (Virtual Learning Environments), and tools for the development of video lessons. The report presents the impressions of a group of students, who attended the discipline of Computers and Society, highlighting the advantages and disadvantages perceived by them about the REDE. The results show that the main advantages involve the flexibility of schedules and the possibility of studying anywhere. The most prominent disadvantages include the need for students to acquire greater autonomy and responsibility - which are also advantages - and the lack of face-to-face contact with teachers and colleagues, which reduces interaction.
