Resumo: This essay discusses the study of clothing in collections of objects, taking as an example the organization of the clothing and accessory collection of the Centro de Referencia Textil/Vestuario (Textile/Clothing Reference Center), a project I have been coordinating since 2005, aimed at developing research on ways of dressing at the Escola de Belas Artes (School of Fine Arts) of the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.
