Resumo: This work has a direct relationship with the theme of the doctoral research on “Suitability of the Clothing of Elderly Care Dependent, Considering her Anatomical Modification”, carried out in 2017 at the University of Minho, in Portugal. The exposed study aims to present suggestions adaptable to clothing, highlighting the characteristics of comfort to suit the physical and postural conditions of the elderly woman with a large size. When using the term “large size”, the study refers to elderly women considered obese by medical classification. Posture, movement and the time spent in the sitting position by the overweight elderly woman were observed. Such observations may contribute significantly to the suggestions of materials and clothing adaptations, considering the characteristics of sensory, thermophysiological, psychological and, more specifically, ergonomic comfort. The research is descriptive and qualitative, with conceptual surveys, highlighting Hoff, 2016; Li, 2001; Zhang, 1992; Slater, 1985; Gill, 2011; Romeo, 2013; Aires, 2019, among others, that reinforce the study with suggestions of materials, methods and techniques to promote the comfort of the product, highlighting the relevance of the subject at the present time.
