Resumo: TThe aim of this text is build briefly the path that led to the concept of stylism and its stages engendered in the Brazilian academic field pioneered by Faculdade Santa Marcelina from the eighties. For that they were used testimonials from former students and professors which were treated from Verena Alberti approach to primary sources. Interests first phase of stylism idea enhanced mainly by Carlos Mauro Rosas between 1988 and 1999. The research leads to relations between the notion of stylism and design, the latter arising from the design field. Finally, there is a critical reflection on the concept of stylism produced by Santa Marcelina in that period and its specificities.

Para isso foram usados depoimentos de egressos e do corpo docente tratados a partir da abordagem de Verena Alberti para fontes primárias. Interessa a primeira fase da ideia de estilismo lapidada principalmente por Carlos Mauro Rosas entre 1988 e 1999. A pesquisa conduz às relações entre noção de estilismo e projeto, este advindo do campo do design.
