Resumo: Aiming at agility in the delivery of orders to customers, companies have increasingly adopted information technology and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). This research aimed to identify the main challenges and benefits caused by the change of a WMS system in the context of a medium-sized auto parts distributor in Ceará. To this end, an exploratory and descriptive research was carried out, with a qualitative approach, in a case study format. It was found that the organization studied received gains with the adoption of the system, mainly in terms of agility of processes and accuracy in stock, which was confirmed by the reduction in the separation and checking time and by the improvement of the Order Fill Rate indicator. It was also found that the greatest difficulty faced in adopting the system was related to the change in organizational culture, as there was no prior preparation or training of employees.

A presente pesquisa teve como objetivo geral identificar os principais desafios e benefícios causados pela mudança de um sistema WMS no contexto de uma distribuidora de autopeças cearense de médio porte. Para tal, foi realizada uma pesquisa de natureza exploratória e descritiva, de abordagem qualitativa, em formato de estudo de caso. Verificou-se que a organização estudada obteve ganhos com a adoção do sistema, principalmente em agilidade dos processos e em acuracidade no estoque, o que foi confirmado pela diminuição do tempo de separação e conferência e pela melhora do indicador Order Fill Rate.
