Resumo: | Given the importance of travel time for the competitiveness and attractiveness of public transport, this work aims to present a model in colored Petri nets that allows a performance analysis of a BRT corridor related to its operational speed. It is an explanatory research that seeks to propose a new form of analysis to a known phenomenon. The model was applied to a section of a BRT corridor, in the Metropolitan Region of Recife, for validation. From this analysis, operational critical points were identified and measures were proposed, such as the introduction of level boarding platforms and traffic light priority, in order to increase the segment operational speed. A model with these implemented measures was simulated and pointed out satisfactory results when enables the increase of the corridor running speed. In conclusion, it is possible to highlight the effectiveness of modeling and simulation in Petri nets to analyze the performance of a BRT corridor and the importance of investigating the design elements and operational measures that could contribute to increase the operational efficiency of a public transportation corridor. |
