Resumo: | Several initiatives have been verified, both in enterprises and literature, for the development of intelligent products for residential applications, mainly related to energy consumption monitoring and control through smart meters. The use of smart meters has gained space in several countries but turns out that this type of application is still very embryonic in Brazil, resulting in high costs for the concessionaires in the accomplishment of data collection of consumption in the country. Research in the literature on smart meters mainly focuses on technological aspects and product engineering, which results in a gap concerning managerial aspects and customer value. Thus, this work aims to develop a business model proposal with flexible arrangement focused on the development and supply of services associated with smart meters (water, energy or gas) for domestic use. For this purpose, several sources of evidence were used to collect data for the development of the model. It was possible to observe that the sources of evidence in the literature and the cases identified present a focus on the technological aspects and structure of the product. The results present a synthesis of several possibilities for setting up business models for residential smart meters. From this, this result allows stimulating business development for the control and promotion of the conscious consumption of natural resources, such as water, energy, and gas, so strategic and critical for the maintenance of the environment. |

The use of smart meters has gained space in several countries but turns out that this type of application is still very embryonic in Brazil, resulting in high costs for the concessionaires in the accomplishment of data collection of consumption in the country. For this purpose, several sources of evidence were used to collect data for the development of the model. It was possible to observe that the sources of evidence in the literature and the cases identified present a focus on the technological aspects and structure of the product. The results present a synthesis of several possibilities for setting up business models for residential smart meters. From this, this result allows stimulating business development for the control and promotion of the conscious consumption of natural resources, such as water, energy, and gas, so strategic and critical for the maintenance of the environment.São verificadas diversas iniciativas, tanto em empreendimentos como na literatura, para o desenvolvimento de produtos inteligentes voltados a aplicações residenciais, principalmente relacionados ao monitoramento e controle de consumo de energia por meio de medidores inteligentes.
