Resumo: The objective of this study was to evaluate the cytotoxicity of four different dental alginate. The four alginate were divided into four groups: Jeltrate, Tropicalgin, Cavex Color change and Qualitygel. Bodies of evidence were immersed in Eagle medium for 2 min, and then it was removed the supernatant and placed in contact with L929 fibroblasts. After staining, viable cells were counted. The results showed differences between groups CC and C- and the others.All experimental groups showed cytotoxicit

Foram avaliados quatro alginatos divididos em quatro grupos: Jeltrate, Tropicalgin, Cavex Color change e Qualitygel. Corpos de prova foram imersos em meio Eagle por 2 min, onde então procedeu-se à remoção do sobrenadante e colocação em contato com fibroblastos L929. Após coloração, realizou-se contagem de células viáveis. Os resultados demonstraram diferenças estatísticas entre os grupos CC e C- e os demais.
