Resumo: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the degree of conversion of three photo-cured composite resins (Fill Magic, TPH Spectrum and Te-Econom). One hundred and twenty samples were prepared, which were irradiated for 20 and 40 s using four light units (two halogens and two LEDs) of different power densities. The degree of conversion was evaluated from near infrared absorption data obtained in a Fourier transform infrared spectrometer. The results show that the degree of conversion increases with the irradiation time only when the resins were radiated with light units of power density smaller than 233 mW/cm2. All three composite resins achieved levels of conversion within the range typically observed in commercial light-cured resins.

O grau de conversão foi avaliado a partir de dados de absorção no infravermelho próximo obtidos em um espectrofotômetro infravermelho. Os resultados mostram que o grau de conversão aumenta com o tempo de irradiação somente quando as resinas foram irradiadas com fontes de luz com densidade de potência menor do que 233 mW/cm2.
