Resumo: Several studies have been published on aggressivity in emergency medical services and psychiatric hospitalizations. However, the question remains of its prevalence in psychiatric emergency services, specifically, since it is often there that these patients are first seen. Thus, a literature review was carried out on the prevalence of aggressivity in psychiatric emergency services. Although the existing studies present variable data due to the different designs and studied populations, a very relevant percentage of aggressiveness was found in the pediatric population, different from that found in the other extreme of age, one tenth of the elderly aged less than sixty-five years had aggressive behavior. There was divergence in relation to homeless people, non-homeless people were slightly more aggressive than homeless people in one study, on the other hand in another the authors state that the fact of not being homeless or homeless would not be relevant in the prevalence of aggressiveness. In general, aggressivity was quite prevalent in these workplaces, with few studies aiming at a better outcome for these events. With this, the authors make some recommendations at the end for future studies.

In general, aggressivity was quite prevalent in these workplaces, with few studies aiming at a better outcome for these events. With this, the authors make some recommendations at the end for future studies.
