Resumo: The idea that mental processes are computational and therefore reproducible artificially brought a major boost to the creation of Artificial Intelligence and became a theoretical framework that has revitalized cognitive psychology, connectionism, linguistics, biomedical engineering and other fields. Psychiatry is a discipline that resembles very closely the computational science and its interaction with this science is a factor of development and evolution for that medical specialty. In this article we discuss some theoretical and some proposed models for what we call computational psychiatry.

La psiquiatría es una disciplina muy cercana a la ciencia computacional y su interacción con este campo científico es un factor en el desarrollo y evolución de esta especialidad médica. En este artículo discutimos algunos aspectos teóricos y algunos modelos propuestos para lo que podemos llamar psiquiatría computacional.A ideia de que os processos mentais são computacionais e, portanto, reprodutíveis artificialmente trouxe um grande impulso para a criação da Inteligência Artificial e se tornou um marco teórico que revitalizou a psicologia cognitiva, o conexionismo, a linguística, engenharia biomédica e outros campos. A psiquiatria é uma disciplina que muito se aproxima da ciência computacional e sua interação com essa campo científico é um fator de desenvolvimento e evolução para essa especialidade médica.
