Resumo: Many studies have addressed the influence of maternal stress on fetal development and the increased risk for the emerging of disease in childhood and adulthood. This process, known as programming fetal, is not well determined and clarified. However, it is well stablished that maternal stress cause significant hormonal changes, especially in the hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal axis, higher risk of preterm labor, low weight birth and higher risk of psychiatric diseases and nutricional changes.
