Resumo: In this work, we present part of the results of the research Observatory of Media and 2018 Elections in Maranhão. We monitor and analyzed the news published during the pre-campaign and election period, in the main media vehicles of the state, in the three media: television, AM radio and printed newspaper. The vehicles chosen are those with the highest audience and / or visibility in their segments and cover both sides of the regional ideological-partisan spectrum: media aligned with the candidate Roseana Sarney's group and media aligned with Governor Flávio Dino. In addition to monitoring the news, the Observatory carried out an opinion poll on the perception of the electorate regarding the coverage of these vehicles in two electoral colleges: São Luís and Raposa.

Catalogamos e analisamos as notícias publicadas durante a pré-campanha e o período eleitoral nos principais veículos de mídia do estado, nos três suportes: televisão, rádio AM e jornal impresso. Os veículos escolhidos são os de maior audiência e/ou visibilidade em seus segmentos e cobrem os dois lados do espectro ideológico-partidário regional: mídia alinhada ao grupo da candidata Roseana Sarney e mídia alinhada ao governador Flávio Dino.
