Resumo: The object of study of this article is the personal profile on the digital social network Instagram of 15 presidents from 14 Latin American countries. The central research question is: how did Latin American presidents behave on their personal Instagram profiles during the Covid-19 pandemic? Thus, the main objective of the article was to analyze how concern about the pandemic was present in the images and captions of the posts. The method used is quantitative analysis on a corpus of 6,321 posts made by the presidents between March 20th and November 30th, 2020. Overall, the results indicated that the Covid-19 pandemic was not a major priority in the posts, being more present in a secondary manner in the images (not as central themes), such as the use of masks and respect for social distancing.

O problema central da pesquisa é: como os presidentes latino-americanos se comportaram em seus perfis pessoais do Instagram perante à pandemia de Covid-19? Desta maneira, o objetivo principal do artigo foi analisar como a preocupação com a pandemia esteve presente nas imagens e legendas das postagens. O método utilizado é a análise quantitativa sobre um corpus de 6.321 postagens realizadas pelos presidentes entre 20 de março e 30 de novembro de 2020. De forma geral, os resultados indicaram que a pandemia de Covid-19 não foi grande prioridade nas postagens, estando mais presente de forma secundária nas imagens (não como temas centrais), como no uso de máscara e respeito ao distanciamento social.
