Resumo: In this work, a series of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)/polyacrylonitrile (PAN) blend films with different PAN mole contents were prepared by casting the polymer blend solution in dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO). Surface morphologies of PVA/PAN blend films were analyzed by Scanning Electronic Microscopy (SEM) and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). Thermal, mechanical, and chemical properties of PVA/PAN blend films were investigated by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Tensile Tests, and Surface Contact Angle Tests. The results showed that the introduction of PAN could exert marked effects on the properties of PVA films.
