Protocol for minimally invasive facial rejuvenation in elderly

Objective: to report the clinical case of facial rejuvenation treatment in an elderly patient through percutaneous collagen induction, use of polydioxanone threads (PDO), filling with hyaluronic acid and application of botulinum toxin. These procedures are minimally invasive, used to sooth facial changes resulted from aging. Case Description: a 76-year-old patient was interested in facial aesthetic procedures and they were performed sequentially, according to the treatment plan. It started with microneedling followed by a retinoic acid mask and home care guidelines. After 28 days, 50U of botulinum toxin was applied to the upper third of the face, in the proximal (6u), eyebrow corrugator (8u), frontal (14u), orbicularis (18u) and nasal (4u) muscles. After one month, 8 PDO threads were inserted in the middle third of the face for facial lifting, and after another 30 days the patient was submitted to the application of hyaluronic acid for lip filling, dark circles, malar/zygomatic regions and canine eminence. Six months after the botulinum toxin was applied, a new application of 50U was performed in the same regions previously applied. All procedures were successful and provided well-being and rejuvenation for the patient. Conclusion: the proposed sequential aesthetic procedures reestablished characteristics of youthfulness and resulted in physical and emotional well-being, reflecting on the improvement in the patient's quality of life.
