Resumo: The article discusses the rise of China and its effects on theinternational order, particularly the role played by the ChineseCommunist Party, which was able to reorganize and to discipline the political forces of the nation of more than one billion inhabitants. The article also discusseshow the millenary Confucian tradition, paradoxically, came to dominate the CCP. From ahistorical approach, the article raises the question about the need to understand how theChinese State could behave in the context of the ongoing geopolitical transformations withoutthe democratic elements typical of the societies that have commanded the international order

O artigo discute também como a milenar tradição confuciana, paradoxalmente, passou a dominar o PCC.
