Entrepreneurial Mentality: From the Way of Thinking to the Way of Acting of The Entrepreneur

Resumo: | Modern world issues urge subjects to be agents of change. There is an essential player in this process whose nature and development still lack understanding: the entrepreneur individual. Among the key factors that determine and explain the way of being and acting is his thought, a fundamental dimension, but yet insufficiently investigated. Processes located in the basic structure of thought, from where actions can be conceived, and then performed, lack further understanding and this comprehension can promote advances in research on the entrepreneurial activity. Facing this scenario, this research of theoretical development aims at analyzing the different approaches of the entrepreneurial mentality, gathering and comparing the main results and understandings achieved on the topic. Entrepreneurship has been investigated and described not as a way of knowing, but as a way of being, and the entrepreneur as a person who has a mentality that manifests itself in behavior or entrepreneurial action. Bringing back and confronting the functioning of mental models, entrepreneurial representations and the forma mentis of the entrepreneur, this study describes how the entrepreneurial mentality structures his way of perceiving and understanding himself and the world around him, therefore defining his way of acting through entrepreneurial action. |

Existe um ator essencial nesse processo que ainda carece de maior entendimento no que se refere à sua natureza e desenvolvimento: o indivíduo empreendedor. Dentre os elementos-chave que determinam e explicam o modo de ser e agir empreendedor está o pensamento desse ator, uma dimensão fundamental, mas ainda pouco investigada. Processos que estão na base da estrutura do pensamento, e a partir dos quais a ação pode ser concebida, e em seguida realizada, carecem de um maior entendimento e sua compreensão pode trazer avanços nas pesquisas sobre a atividade empreendedora. Diante desse panorama, esta pesquisa de desenvolvimento teórico tem o objetivo de analisar as diferentes dimensões da mentalidade empreendedora, reunindo e confrontando os principais resultados e entendimentos alcançados sobre o tema. O empreendedorismo tem sido investigado e descrito não mais como uma forma de saber, mas sim como uma forma de ser, e o indivíduo empreendedor como um sujeito que tem uma mentalidade que se manifesta em um comportamento ou ação empreendedora.
