Resumo: This paper presents recent studies from the research line Design: Materials, Processes and Technology, which is part of the Design Masters Degree course in the Post-Graduate Program in Design at the Federal University of Maranhão – UFMA. The researches shown here have in common the realization of design experiments, which differ from the classic definition of scientific experiment and approach the precepts of design research, supported by participatory design and the practices of design an- thropology, in order to bring research subjects closer together, understanding them as co-researchers. Three studies were reviewed and their analysis contributes to the understanding of the possibilities and frontiers of the experimental method of design.

Las investigaciones aquí mostradas tienen en común la realización de experimentos de diseño, que difieren de la definición clásica de experimento científico y abordan los preceptos de design research, apoyados en el diseño participativo y las prácticas de design anthropology, con el fin de acercar a los sujetos de investigación, entendiéndolos como coinvestigadores. Se revisaron tres estudios y su análisis contribuye a la comprensión de las posibilidades y fronteras del método experimental de diseño.Este artigo apresenta estudos recentes da linha de pesquisa Design: Materiais, Processos e Tecnologia, que faz parte do curso de Mestrado em Design do Programa de Pós-Graduação em design da Universidade Federal do Maranhão – UFMA. As pesquisas aqui demonstradas têm em comum a realização de experimentações de design, que diferem da definição clássica de experimento científico e se aproximam dos preceitos do design research, amparados pelo design participativo e pelas práticas do design anthropology, de forma a aproximar os sujeitos de pesquisa, entendendo-os como copesquisadores.
