Resumo: This article presents a study of the visualities and visibilities of black women in the scenography of the Recife’s Carnival in the year 2006. Based on a literature review, it seeks to study the structural relationships of these regimes and examine aesthetics and representation as instruments of power using semiotic analysis as a tool to discuss the meanings of the images studied, in addition to verifying whether these modes of representation produce identification in these women.
