Resumo: This paper intends to analyze the lyrical subject included in the work of Gilka Machado in two moments: in the poems "Ser mulher...", published in his debut work, Cristais partidos, 1915, and "O mundo precisa de poesia", which integrates his last work, Sublimação, 1938. In the identification of the images and to observe the pertinent relations between lyric and society, the work is arranged to explore the social and esthetic questions that guided the trajectory of the poet. In this way, we wish to broaden the research on his work, contributing to the poet's rescue in the history of Brazilian literature.
