Resumo: This text proposes to study one of the most important characteristics of Murilo Mendes’ lyric, the relationship between poetry and myth, reflecting on the aesthetic procedures used by the poet in the elaboration of his work, built through the junction between imagination and poetic work, represented , respectively, by the figures of Orpheus and Prometheus. The question that underlies the text is: how is the thematic and formal representation of the mythical figures of Orpheus and Prometheus carried out in the poetry of Murilo Mendes? How does the poet represent and harmonize the tension between imaginative and liberating orphic language and rational Promethean poetic work?

La pregunta que subyace en el texto es: ¿cómo tiene lugar la representación temática y formal de las figuras míticas de Orfeo y Prometeo en la poesía de Murilo Mendes? ¿Cómo representa y armoniza el poeta la tensión entre el lenguaje imaginativo y liberador de las oríferas y la obra poética racional protémica?Este texto propõe estudar uma das mais importantes características da lírica de Murilo Mendes, a relação entre poesia e mito, refletindo sobre os procedimentos estéticos utilizados pelo poeta na elaboração de sua obra, construída por meio da junção entre imaginação e labor poético, representados, respectivamente, pelas figuras de Orfeu e Prometeu. A pergunta que fundamenta o texto é: como se realiza a representação temática e formal das figuras míticas de Orfeu e Prometeu na poesia de Murilo Mendes?
