Resumo: This article brings an overview of the options to treat morphosyntax themes carried out by the Sociolinguistic Working Group of ANPOLL. With this purpose, we present four groups of attested tendencies, illustrated with dissertations supervised by members of the working group. They include (i) works carried out without any interface with another theoretical approach besides the model of the Theory of Language Variation and Change, using factor groups tested in other works; most of them  show the systematicity attested in Brazilian Portuguese and provide solid foundations for new studies about the analyzed phenomena; (ii) works that associate the variationist paradigm to functionalist or formalist theories, which allow raising hypotheses that help explain the variation processes analyzed; (iii) works that use results of such studies to evaluate psychological and social hypotheses, such as style, attitude, identity; and (iv) works that use the results as argument either to discuss the limitations of the Theory of Language Variation and Change or to show that a theoretical-methodological articulation of the variationist, functionalist and discursive-enunciative perspectives in the research on language variation and change is possible. In the conclusion, we present some tendencies and reflections aiming to contribute to the vitality of this area of Linguistics.
