Deception, distrust and dramatization: contradictions between recommendations and practices in a campaign against disinformation

Resumo: In order to fight fake news dissemination, media vehicles have adopted part of the assumptions of media literacy in didactic campaigns that encourage the conscious consumption of information sources. This study analyzes the campaign “Fake news: don't be part of that lie”, promoted by Globo Television Network in 2019. The article assesses how the television network could appropriate assumptions and tools that derive from a critical tradition (present in media education practices) and how this didactic campaign content recommendations echo or conflict with the format adopted by the network to educate its audience and, indirectly, stand out as a source of legitimate information.

Este estudio analiza la campaña “Noticias falsas: no seas parte de esta mentira”, promovida por Red Globo en 2019. El artículo evalúa cómo las herramientas típicas de la tradición crítica (presente en las prácticas de alfabetización mediática) son apropiadas y cómo el contenido de las recomendaciones de la campaña didáctica de Globo tensiona con el formato adoptado por la emisora para educar a su audiencia e, indirectamente, destacarse como una fuente de información legítima.Para combater a disseminação de notícias falsas, veículos de comunicação passam a adotar parte dos pressupostos do letramento midiático em campanhas didáticas no incentivo ao consumo de fontes de informação mais criteriosas. Este estudo analisa a campanha “Fake news: não faça parte dessa mentira”, promovida pela Rede Globo em 2019.
