Resumo: The significant solid waste generation, coupled with the lack of proper management of the waste generated, has been one of the issues of concern and conducting research on the part of scholars in the field. Tourism as an activity that positively impacts and negativity a given location, has emerged as an activity that can generate a lot of waste, especially in periods of high season, considering the increase of people moving to the tourist destinations. Accordingly, this study aims to analyze the generation and management of solid waste resulting from tourism in Porto de Galinhas, PE. We performed an exploratory, descriptive, qualitative study, conducted in the form of a case study in Porto de Galinhas, PE. The data collection was done interviews together social actors, as well as non-participant observation during data collection. The results showed that tourism activities in Porto de Galinhas result in a high amount of solid waste, and these are directed to inappropriate places. Although fate presents a combination of recyclable materials, RECYCLE, reuses this not a significant amount, given the proportion of waste generated.

El turismo como una actividad que tiene un impacto positivo y negativo de un lugar determinado, se ha convertido en una actividad que puede generar um gran volumen de residuos, especialmente en períodos de temporada alta, tenien do encuentael aumento de personas que se desplazan a los destinos turísticos. Por consiguiente, esse estudiotiene como objetivo analizar la generación y gestión de residuos sólidos resultantes de turismo en Porto de Galinhas , PE. Se realizo um estudio exploratorio, descriptivo, cualitativo, realizado en forma de um estudio de caso em el Porto de Galinhas, PE. La recolección de datos se llevó a cabo entrevistas a los actores sociales, así como la observación no participante durante la recolección de datos. Los resultados mostrar on que las actividades turísticas en Porto de Galinhas resultado en una grancantidad de residuos sólidos, los cuales se dirigen a lugares in apropiados. Aunque el destino presenta una combinación de materiales reciclables, RECICLE, reutiliza essa no es una cantidad significativa , teni em doencuental aproporción de los resíduos generados.A expressiva geração de resíduos sólidos, aliada à falta de manejo adequado do lixo gerado, vem sendo uma das questões de preocupação e incitando a realização de pesquisas por parte dos estudiosos da área. O turismo, como uma atividade que impacta, positiva e negativamente, uma dada localidade, vem se destacando como uma atividade que pode gerar um elevado volume de resíduos, sobretudo nos períodos de alta estação, haja vista o aumento de pessoas que se deslocam para os destinos turísticos. Nesse sentido, este estudo tem o objetivo de analisar a geração e o manejo dos resíduos sólidos resultantes das atividades turísticas de Porto de Galinhas - PE. Foi realizada uma pesquisa exploratória, descritiva, de abordagem qualitativa, conduzida sob a forma de um estudo de caso realizado em Porto de Galinhas - PE. Para a coleta dos dados, foram feitas entrevistas com os atores sociais e observação não participante. Os principais resultados da pesquisa apontaram que as atividades turísticas de Porto de Galinhas resultam em uma elevada quantidade de resíduos sólidos, que são direcionados para locais inadequados.
