The Use of RPG in the Teaching of History: An Experience Report on the Republican Maranhão Explained through a Game

Resumo: | This article describes an experience in preparing a game manual aimed at teaching History for the basic education. Analysing the potential of Role Playing Games (RPG) as a tool in the teaching and learning process, leads us to recognize it as an effective mediator in the socialization of content and in construction of skills necessary for developing assertive, reading driven and active citizens. Taking that into account, an RPG manual centered in the history of Maranhão was created, also aiming to be a tool for the valorization of regional and local history, allowing students and teaches to have a higher assessment with the local social complexity. This report intends to highlight the research paths and the construction stages of the game manual. |
