Resumo: The article deals with aspects of the trajectory of Laerte Ramos de Carvalho (1922-1972) in education and the public sphere. His interventions as a teacher, journalist, manager, researcher, and author stand out in a historical approach based on facts and speeches from documentary sources. This investment results in constructing a more delineated and complex image of the subject, whose trajectory expresses, in acts and words, the tensions and contradictions of the intellectual condition.

Destacan sus intervenciones como docente, periodista, gestor, investigador y autor, en un enfoque histórico y basado en hechos y discursos obtenidos de fuentes documentales. Esta inversión resulta en la construcción de una imagen más delineada y compleja del sujeto, cuya trayectoria expresa, en palabras y hechos, las tensiones y contradicciones de la condición intelectual.O artigo trata de aspectos da trajetória de Laerte Ramos de Carvalho (1922-1972) na educação e na esfera pública. Destacam-se suas intervenções como professor, jornalista, gestor, pesquisador e autor, em abordagem histórica e com base em fatos e discursos obtidos em fontes documentais.
