Resumo: The work was carried out in the Center of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology of the province of Havana with the objective of evaluating the frequency of rabies presentation in the period 2000-2017 and its relation with animal bites. With a non-experimental longitudinal trend design, the data provided by the rabies program were identified, the variables under study were: rabies outbreaks by municipalities, injured people, age group, samples sent to the laboratory, animals injuries, classification of injuries by area of the body and severity of the same.  A descriptive statistic was made to the variable age group by counting the data in a frequency table from the Statgraphic plus version 5.1 program and a multiple range test to determine if there are significant differences between the means of the ages. A quadratic regression analysis was performed between the total variables of injured individuals and injured dogs.  In the Wajay people's council, a descriptive and prospective observational study was carried out with the patients who attended this health area in 2017, presenting bite injuries.  As a result, the municipalities that presented the highest number of rabies cases were Boyeros, Lisa and Arroyo Naranjo.  The species most involved in inflicting multiple lesions and mild severity were mongrel dogs with owners and the highest percentage of injured in the Wajay People's Council were older men of 18 years.
