Resumo: This article is characterized as a bibliographic review and aims to discuss actions for the conservation of science teaching objects that are possible to be carried out within the scope of activities developed by school institutions. Based on the context of the schools, were described the most appropriate materials and basic processes for preventive and curative conservation practices. It was argued about the importance of maintaining collections in schools and the need for involvement of school communities for the conservation of their cultural heritage. For this, were pointed some possibilities of controlled use of the collections, both for the preservation of the memory and history of the institutions and for didactic purposes, especially in the disciplines of Natural Sciences and Chemistry.

Con base en el contexto de las escuelas, se describieron los materiales más apropiados y los procesos básicos para las prácticas de conservación preventiva y curativa. Se argumentó a favor de la importancia de mantener las colecciones en las escuelas y la necesidad de involucrar a las comunidades escolares para la conservación de su patrimonio cultural. Para ello, se señalaron algunas posibilidades de uso controlado de las colecciones tanto para la preservación de la memoria e historia de las instituciones como con fines didácticos, especialmente en las disciplinas de Ciencias Naturales y Química.Cet article se caractérise comme une revue bibliographique et vise à discuter des actions de conservation des objets d'enseignement des sciences qu'il est possible de mener dans le cadre des activités développées par les institutions scolaires. Sur la base du contexte des écoles, les matériaux les plus appropriés et les processus de base pour les pratiques de conservation préventive et curative ont été décrits. Il a été plaidé en faveur de l'importance du maintien des collections dans les écoles et de la nécessité de l'implication des communautés scolaires pour la conservation de leur patrimoine culturel. Pour cela, ont été signalées certaines possibilités d'utilisation contrôlée des collections, tant pour la préservation de la mémoire et de l'histoire des institutions qu'à des fins didactiques, notamment dans les disciplines des sciences naturelles et de la chimie.Este artigo se caracteriza como uma revisão bibliográfica e tem como objetivo discutir as ações para a conservação dos objetos de ensino de ciências que são possíveis de serem realizadas no âmbito das atividades desenvolvidas pelas instituições escolares. A partir do contexto das escolas, foram descritos os materiais mais adequados e os processos básicos para as práticas de conservação preventiva e curativa. Argumentou-se a favor da importância da manutenção dos acervos nas escolas e da necessidade do envolvimento das comunidades escolares para a conservação do seu patrimônio cultural.
